I figured I'd make a post of some bands that I greatly enjoy.
Megadeth (metal/rock) -check out, youthanasia, rust in peace, count down to extinction, and the system has failed (personal favorites), oh and Hidden Treasures.
Metallica (metal), check out the old stuff, it's better than new. (Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, And Justice For)
Judas Priest (metal) My favorite cd is their heaviest, Pain Killer.
Lacuna Coil (goth rock/metal) All cd's are good. Some songs suck, some are good.
The Smashing Pumpkins (Rock/alt rock) I enjoy all of their cds. There is turds on all of them, and amazing tracks on all of them. Some of my favorite tracks are,
The Everlasting Gaze. Stand Inside Your Love. Bullet With Butterfly Wings. Zero. Geek USA. Mayonaise. Silverfuck. Perfect. Eye. 1979. Marquis in Spades. Mouths of Babes. Heavy Metal Machine. Quiet. Disarm. So many to list. Just listen to the cds, pick the ones you like, make your own mix (leaving out the turds of course).
Dokken (80's metal, some of their songs are turds, others are great).
Ozzy (80's metal) Check out the stuff with Randy Rhoads, and Jake E Lee. Also, the No More Tears album is amazing, front to back (and not so 80's either). That said, anything new with the "ozzy" moniquer sucks ass.
Orgy (digital rock/alt rock) check out the album "candy ass". It's great.
Bush (90's grunge) Check out 16 stone, that was one of the few albums of the grunge era that kicked ass front to back.
Helmet (check out meantime, just basic riff rock)
Alice In Chains (grunge rock metal, but better than anything grunge) check out Face Lift, and Dirt. There's some amazing songs on those cd's.
Rammstein (best cd to date in my opinion is Herzeleid. Pretty much for Du Reischt so gut (you smell so good).
Oomph! (another German band) a lot of great songs, a lot of turd songs (why do all bands do this shit to me!)
Megaherz (again, see above).
Dido (some chick singing to pop-ish music) this is a guilty pleasure of mine. Along with Kaki King, and KT Tunstall).
KMFDM- Industrial Metal Rock Alt Rock. This is one of my all time favorite bands. Some awesome songs, and some ass songs. Recently, check out WWIII. It's fucking good front to back. Old School, check out Nihil. That cd is one of the best cd's of all time. The tracks on it are great front to back. My least favorite is Juke Joint Jezabel. It's considered an excellent track, I just don't like that one.
Queensryche (progressive rock/alt rock/metal). Another all time favorite band. There's basically 4 bands that I'd drop everything to go see. Megadeth, The Smashing Pumpkins, KMFDM, and Queensryche. Nik can tell you, the one concert he went to sucked, then Megadeth came on and it almost made all those bad bands worth it. Anyway, I rank Queensryche right up there.
The best Cd's in my opinion are Operation Mind Crime (ONE not that Two turd), Tribe (for Open, and Desert Dance) and Empire. There's other great songs on Warning, and Rage For Order. There's a "very best of queensryche" cd that's a 2 cd set. It has a lot of their great songs on it, but then they leave out some of their awesome tunes. I don't know what fucking gives, but I'd buy it.
30 Seconds to Mars- I really don't need to say much other than check out their 1st cd, and then try their 2nd. The 2nd isn't as awesome as the 1st, but it'll grow on you if you listen to it more.

Linda Strawberry, Tatu, Tool, Trivium, Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Joe Satriani, Remy Zero, Static-X, Stone Temple Pilots, Stabbing Westward, Nevermore, Pain, Our Lady Peace, Prong, Lacuna Coil, Garbage, Godhead, Gravity Kills, Helmet, HIM, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Kill Hannah, Deftones, Disturbed, Dokken, Filter, Electric Six, Dope, Abba, Anthrax, Christina Aguilera.
I copy pasted those off of my myspace page. HIM, corey can tell you about. Dope, if nothing else check out their newest CD. I can't fucking find it around here, but it's awesome. Gravity Kills is another awesome band.
I like things all over the spectrum. A lot of the OLD metal that I listen to has influenced the new bands out there. It's funny, I hate ACDC, but a band I love (Megadeth) thinks they are amazing. A few "newer" metal bands that Corey likes, I don't much care for, but I like Megadeth. Those newer bands listened to Megadeth (ironically enough, an "older" generation hates Megadeth, but loves ACDC).
Something I'll say is this. You may not like a type of music, but never be afraid to listen to something new. You'll never know what you'll like. Just because I think something sucks, doesn't mean that you won't enjoy it. Don't let someone decide for you, decide for yourself.
